Fuel and petrol stations in Georgia

Georgia has plenty of petrol stations, especially along highways and in towns. There are fewer in the mountains — fill up in advance.

How to fill up

• At most stations an attendant fills the car: say the fuel type and the amount, or "full tank".
• You can pay by card or in cash.
• There are usually several petrol grades and diesel. The fuel your car needs is in the contract and on the car page.

How full to return the car

Return the car with the same fuel level as at pick-up — it is photographed in the hand-over act. If there is less, the missing litres are charged at the price in the contract.

Tip

Before a mountain trip or Svaneti, fill the tank — the next station may be far away.
